S M Stores, Arcot — Where It All Began

Long before online shopping, there was S M Stores. Since 1976, our family has served the people of Arcot with one unwavering promise: jewelry that feels as precious as the moments it adorns. Generations of families have walked through our doors and left with something that lasts.

Avalna is the online brand of that shop — the same craftsmanship, the same family, now available to you wherever you are in India. But our roots remain exactly where they have always been: right here in Arcot, Tamil Nadu.

A Living, Breathing Store — Not Just a Website

We know that buying jewelry online asks for a certain kind of trust. That is why we want you to know: Avalna is backed by a real store, with a real address, run by a real family. Every piece you see on this website has a physical counterpart that has been held, examined, and approved at our Arcot shop before it ever appears on our shelves — digital or otherwise.

The counter at S M Stores, Arcot. Every Avalna order is picked from this shop.

Our store stocks fashion and temple jewelry that reflects the finest traditions of South Indian craftsmanship. Gold-plated finishes, kemp stones, Lakshmi motifs, and intricate kasu work — these are not imported trends for us. They are part of our daily vocabulary, our family's shared language of beauty.

Come and See Us

If you are ever in Arcot — or passing through on your way to Tirupati, Vellore, or Chennai — we warmly invite you to visit. Browse our in-store collection, speak with our team, and experience the jewelry in person. There is no substitute for holding a piece in your hand and seeing how it catches the light.

Our family has been a part of this community for fifty years. When you visit, you are not walking into a showroom — you are walking into our home.
